“Now everytime I heard the word love, I think: going, going, the first week you were gone I kept seeing your hand wave goodbye, like a windshield wiper in a flooding car in the last real moment I believed the hurricane would let me out alive” Andrea Gibson

This is what sickness looks like.  It harbors itself in you.  It makes its home on areas so private, that such an infestation is a personal attack.  The stronger it grows the weaker you get, and then your eyes close.  You may hear the beat of your heart telling a story in the distance.  It tells the tale of the unknown breaking down pillars made of salt and shattering through castle walls

Art washes from the soul, the dirt of everyday life

After falling in love with the picture of the couple kissing in the middle of the Vancouver riots, I had to recreate it.  I took away all the passion from the shot and instead ingested the violence, rage, and hate of the riots.  By the end,  all I wanted was to see the original again.

I created a collection of silhouette pieces.  Each one complimenting the message of the next.  Confession: Quote belongs to Drake.  It spoke to me, showed me what’s inside some of the people involved in the entertainment industry.  I am assuming he was directing it towards a stripper and whereas some men are so indulged in sexualized concept of the woman, he can taste the real nature of her situation.  Rather than indulging in her, he realizes where her efforts are coming from.

Loved the message, so I ripped it out of my magazine and drew all over it.  I hardly ever update my tumblr anymore, so today I am allowed to have my upload spree.  Life is being so beautiful to meeeeee, I could kiss it.

Recently, I witnessed this in Canada.  The media is so quick to twist around messages that they themselves do not understand.  They take hurtful words, and propagate them against minorities, ingest misinformation, and the outcome is nothing hate, and lots of it.

On March 16, 2012, the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) and the cities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge bloomed with beautiful spring colours as a sea of colourful turbans flowed from the school campus to the streets.
Late for the event, camera bag falling off my shoulder, I stopped midway to where  Sikh Awareness Day event was being held.  We had envisioned this event to be great, but we hadn’t so much as dreamt it to be as extraordinary as it became.
